My Review of CocoCeps

CocoCeps is something I normally would never buy.  Mushrooms and cocoa mixed together in powder form. That's a drink? Eww...

However, iHerb sent me samples of both CocoCeps and CafeCeps (which has coffee instead of cocoa in it).  My husband tried the samples, and really like it, especially the CafeCeps.  I still had my doubts.

But then yesterday another free sample arrived in my most recent iHerb order, and I had a terrible cold. My husband told me to try to the CocoCeps because it really works.  So I became brave and tried it.

I made the CocoCeps with 8 ounces of milk. The CocoCeps is unsweetened, so I added 2 teaspoons of sugar to it.  The package suggests a tablespoon of Agave.  I could have added another teaspoon, but I actually like my hot chocolate a little bitter.

I couldn't really taste the mushrooms much. It just tasted like really dark cocoa.  The surprising thing is that I really felt better for a few hours after drinking it. It only took 5 to 10 minutes after drinking it to feel the effect.  Although my cold symptoms didn't go away, all of a sudden I felt like my focus was getting back to normal.  I sat down at the computer and was productive. I didn't have any jitters. It was a very mental effect. I felt motivated and like I wanted to do things.

This surprised me, because I was just hoping that the mushrooms would boost my immune system. I didn't expect the mental boost. However, now that I read the description, I see it says "Jumpstart Your Energies!" and many of the reviews say that it helps get them going in the morning, similar to how a cup of coffee would work.

It has Cordyceps and Reishi mushrooms in it.  According to the description, Cordyceps has been used as a tonic for hundreds of years in China and Tibet.  It is supposed to support healthy energy levels and help with fatigue.  The Reishi is supposed to boost the immune system.

I think I'll be trying it again!
